Announcing the 2023-2024 IATC Elections!
Per our Bylaws, any Torch member who meets the qualification for an office on the ballot may run for that office. The positions to be voted on in the General Election are listed below. Please consider running for the important Regional Director or Vice-President positions.
Select the nomination and candidate information forms for either Regional Director or Vice-President positions. Secure the nomination by obtaining support by the indicated number of Torch clubs for the position and send in the appropriate form. Nomination and candidate information forms must be received at the IATC Main Office by November 30, 2023. Reach out to any member of the IATC Nominating Committee with questions. Eligibility Qualifications For Regional Director, a Torch Member for at least five years, held a Torch club office for at least one year, and be nominated by one or more Torch clubs in their Torch Region. For Vice-President, a Torch Member shall have demonstrated leadership in one or more complex organizations for a total of at least 5 years, shall have demonstrated a genuine interest in nurturing and expanding Torch and its Association by having served at least 2 years on a local Torch club board, or has served or is serving on the IATC Board. The nominee shall be comfortable using a wide range of modern communication tools and shall have indicated a willingness to serve on the Board through the Presidency and Past Presidency. For the role of Vice-President, the person must be nominated by any two Torch clubs. Note: The Board following the procedure in the bylaws has waived the requirement that candidates for the 2024 election must have served on both their local board and the IATC board. The term for Regional Director is two years. The term for Vice-President is two years. At the end of that term, the Vice-President becomes President for two years. At the end of that term, the President becomes Immediate Past President. The term for anyone who had been appointed Regional Director by the board is for the remainder of that region’s term. For the Vice-President, if the President’s office is vacated before the term is over, the Vice-President shall assume the office of Presidency and serve the balance of that term plus the two years as described above. Terms for even number regions will end in 2026, and terms for odd number regions will end in 2025. Vice-presidents are nominated in the Fall of odd-numbered years and elected in even-numbered years.
