Torch Regional Directors Elected on April 1, 2021!
The 2021 Torch Election Cycle for Regional Director was completed on March 31. The updated International Board of Directors can found on torch.org. Congratulations to each of these Regional Directors elected in the 2021 Torch Elections: Region 3: Lynn Bernard Nominated by the Chambersburg Torch Club Region 4: Frank McCoy Nominated by the IATC Nominating Committee Region 5: Elizabeth Short Nominated by the Columbus Torch Club Region 6: Dwight Williams Nominated by the Saginaw Valley Torch Club Region 7: Roland Zimany Nominated by the Des Moines Torch Club Region 8: Arthur Bloom Nominated by the Winston-Salem Torch Club* Region 9: James Deegear Nominated by the San Antonio Torch Club * Takes office in June. Thanks and appreciation to each of them for serving Torch Clubs, Torch Members, and the International Association of Torch Clubs (IATC) in this major liaison function! Each individual nominated by a Torch Club was the only non-deficient candidate nominated for the Region and was elected in accord with Bylaw III, Section 5, Sub-Section (c), Sub-Sub-Section 12. The individual nominated by the IATC Nominating Committee was the only candidate nominated for Region 4 and was elected in accord with Bylaw III, Section 5, Sub-Section (c), Sub-Sub-Section 11, and Bylaw VII, Section 4, Sub-Sections (k) and (l). A Regional Director is a major facilitating liaison person in the overall organization of efforts and relationships to achieve the main reasons Members enjoy Torch, which are, as we all know, the socializing opportunities and the intellectual interests and satisfactions. We all look forward to resuming in-person Torch meetings soon. This liaison effort is oriented toward facilitating activities and relationships between Torch Clubs and the leadership of the IATC, and, toward encouraging joint communications and relationships between Torch Clubs. Please offer other ideas to support Torch Clubs and to enhance enjoyment of Torch by all Members, to your Regional Director or to other IATC officers.
